Songkran Special: Thai House Music Edition

Born in Korea, raised in Thailand, and borderless by design — J/WON is a queer third culture artist currently based in Seoul. Bridging her studies in International Relations with the art of mixing, she creates sonic spaces unbounded by genre. Her sets traverse a spectrum from minimal deep tech and hard groove techno to baile funk — all anchored by deep tribal elements and driving rhythms.

This special edition celebrates Songkran, Thailand’s traditional New Year festival held from April 13th to 15th — a time when people splash water on one another to wash away the misfortunes of the past year and welcome blessings, happiness, and fresh beginnings ahead. Having grown up in Thailand, Songkran holds a deeply personal meaning for J/WON.

In the spirit of the festival, this set is dedicated to Thai house music — tracks produced in Thailand or by Thai artists and DJs — as a way to honor the culture that shaped her. Consider this mix a sonic cleansing: let the rhythms wash away last year’s bad luck, and carry with them wishes of good fortune and joy for the new year ahead.
